Project: "Enhancing Livelihoods Security of Small and Marginal Farmers through Innovative Agricultural Practices in Kandhamal districts of Odisha "

Madhyam Foundation launched a three year project on 1st January, 2020 with the support of Azim Premji Foundation, Bengaluru. The project is being implemented among 4,000 small and marginal and land less farmer households in 60 villages of G.Udayagiri and Raikia block in Kandhamal district of Odisha. The main objective of this project is to increase household level income by enhancing production and productivity in vegetable, turmeric, ginger, potato, and tuber crop cultivation through innovative and sustainable agriculture practices. In spite of many huddles such as restriction on movement , public gathering and transportation restriction during Covid-19 pandemic , erratic rain fall Madhyam was able to achieve its planned outcomes and farmers got Rs 40,000 to Rs 70,000 as additional income per year apart from house hold consumption. Crop diversification made a copping mechanism for the farmers and accepentance of crop rotation could be observed among farmers.
Malkangiri Project
Project: "Integrated Farming in tribal areas "

Govt. of Odisha had launched a special programme of Integrated Farming in tribal areas which aims for comprehensive development of agriculture, horticulture, livestock and fishery sectors through technology diffusion, integrated management of natural resources in sustainable manner by community institutions. The project, implemented in Malkangiri district is anchored by ATMA at district level & technical support is provided by WASSAN. The project is being implemented by number of Facilitating Agencies (FA) & Madhyam Foundation was selected during June,20 to act as a FA in Cluster- 2 which comprises 80 villages coming under 7 Gram panchayats of Mathili block & 3 Gram Panchayats of Malkangiri block. Madhyam Foundation is implementing this project from its project office located at Nayakguda in Malkangiri block.

Project: "- Building climate resilience Communities for food & income security "
Supported by : BMZ –Germany (75%) and ADH –Germany (25%) through AWO International Germany.
Period of support : 1st August 2023-31st July 2026
The project is implemented among 5000 small and marginal farmer households of 52 villages in 5 grampanchayats of Raikia block in Kandhamal district of Odisha w.e.f 1st August 2023 for three years. The main objective of the project is to enable the communities to recover from the effect of climate change by securing their food securing their food supply , diversifying their income and improving agricultural production.
