Period of support : 1st August 2023-31st July 2026
The project is implemented among 5000 small and marginal farmer households of 52 villages in 5 grampanchayats of Raikia block in Kandhamal district of Odisha w.e.f 1st August 2023 for three years. The main objective of the project is to enable the communities to recover from the effect of climate change by securing their food securing their food supply , diversifying their income and improving agricultural production.
Major activities are Promotion of Diversion Based Irrigation (DBI) ,graded bund, Percolation tank, Check Dams, promotion of paadu cultivation using line transplanting, Nutri gardens, cultivation of vegetable black gram, green gram, Millet, and lemon grass , establishment of Agri production and collection centers, promotion of Climate change action group, promotion of Producer group and Producer organization, collective marketing of vegetables ,Production of organic manure, pesticides and vitamins, goat rearing for land less households, training to community and school children on disaster preparedness like forest fire in hills , land sliding ,orientation of forest dwellers to apply for land under forest right Act, sensitization to community on gender based discrimination and domestic violence etc.
